For thousands of years, man has sought to illuminate the night. Fear of darkness and the desire to extend the usable period of a day have been the main driving forces. And as a result, the pursuit of perfect artificial lighting has been ever ongoing.

The Aladdin Knights of the Mystic Light celebrate these achievements by collecting and researching many of the great lighting breakthroughs and inventions of the past century. It was at this time that not only did superior lighting become available for everyone, but also the production of elegant and beautifully crafted lamps that were also very afforable.

The Aladdin Knights concentrate their passion on those lamps manufactured by Aladdin Industries, Inc. - formally known as The Mantle Lamp Company. These lamps are what many hold to be the premier lighting manufacturer of the early 20th century. And I, for one, do not disagree. However, many other great companies have produced absolutely exquisite samples of Antique and Collectable lighting that are also very sought after; Angle, Coleman, Rayo, just to name a few.

In this section I wish to concentrate mainly on Aladdin lamps, but also touch on Angle and others as time permits and this site grows. Perhaps with enough interest, another Web Site can be created to address these other wonderful examples of early 20th century Kerosene and Electric lighting. Until then, enjoy all we have to offer.
